Summary
Phonema is built so that your data never leaves your device. Pronunciation analysis runs 100% on your iPhone or iPad. Your voice is never sent to any server. There are no user accounts and no servers of our own.
Data controller
Jordi Belda, address Banyeres de Mariola, Spain. Contact: hola@phonema.app.
Data in the app
- Audio: recordings are processed on-device with a local model and stay on your device. They are not transmitted, not stored on servers, and nobody listens to them.
- Practice data: scores, progress and history are stored only in your device's local storage (and, if you have iCloud backup enabled, in your personal backup managed by Apple).
- Accounts: none. We do not ask for your name, email or any identifier.
- Analytics: we use PostHog (EU-based servers) for anonymous, aggregated usage events —which screens are viewed, whether onboarding is completed, analysis results— solely to improve the app. Your audio and any identifying data are never sent, and no user profiles are built. See PostHog's privacy policy. We include no advertising SDKs.
Purchases and subscriptions
Subscriptions are purchased and processed through Apple's App Store (StoreKit). Apple acts as the controller of payment data (Apple account identity, payment method, purchase history). We do not receive or store that data; only the subscription status, verified locally on the device. See Apple's privacy policy.
This website
phonema.app is a static site hosted on Vercel. It uses Vercel Web Analytics, a cookieless web analytics that measures visits in an aggregated, anonymous way —it does not track you, build profiles, or collect identifiable personal data. We use no other cookies or trackers. The hosting provider may temporarily log technical data (such as IP addresses) in its server logs for security purposes. See Vercel's privacy policy.
Your rights (GDPR)
You may exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction and portability by writing to hola@phonema.app. Since we store no personal data of yours on our systems, in practice erasure is achieved by deleting the app from your device. You may also lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (aepd.es).
Children
The app is not directed at children under 14 and collects no data from any user, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will publish the updated version on this page with a new date.
