What does a practice session involve?
If you have an interview answer ready and want to practise saying it clearly, Phonema turns your text into a pronunciation drill. Paste the answer or scan a printed line, record yourself, review the words and sounds you want to work on, then repeat it. Scoring runs on your iPhone, including offline. It is a focused way to rehearse a line before an interview, presentation or call.
Speak offers a different session: its lessons introduce useful phrases, then let you practise them in a conversation with Speak Tutor. Speak’s product page describes pronunciation and phrasing feedback, and its plan comparison lists Pronunciation Coach for English learners on both paid plans. Use it to practise responding to questions and developing an answer. Both apps address pronunciation in their own way.

What happens to your recording?
Phonema scores pronunciation on the device and does not upload recordings. Speak uses voice in its lessons and conversations. The App Store label is supplied by the developer.
Which should you choose?
Choose Phonema when you have a particular sentence in mind and want to hear, review and repeat its pronunciation. You can use your own text and practise offline; its English scoring uses American English references.
Choose Speak when you want lessons, an AI conversation partner and practice forming replies. It is also available on Android. If both approaches would help, use a Speak conversation to find a line you want to improve, then rehearse it in Phonema.
